Founded in 1974, the AIFVF has continuously maintained a vision and identity that celebrates avant-garde, independent, alternative, and world media, in all genres and formats.

Located in the rural southeast city of Athens in the US state of Ohio, the festival takes advantage of the beautiful location to sponsor outdoor screenings and media events.

This year’s edition of the Athens International Film and Video Festival was held in Athens, Ohio, from April 3-10.
