Luxembourg Fest 2020 screening ‘Yalda’

The Luxembourg City Film Festival 2020 is currently playing host to Iranian much-applauded feature film ‘Yalda’.

Masoud Bakhshi’s 89-min film with the full name ‘Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness’ will go on screen as the closing film of the 10th edition of festival.

‘Yalda’, a captivating drama co-produced with Luxembourg's Amour Fou and awarded in Sundance Film Festival, follows a young Iranian woman sentenced to death and seeking to obtain forgiveness from her accusers via a popular reality TV show.

The 2019 production has been already honored with the Grand Jury Award at the 2020 International Dramatic Film at Sundance Film Festival in the US.  

In its recent festival appearance, ‘Yalda’ will go on screen at the 15th Panorama of Maghreb and Middle Eastern Cinemas currently underway in France as well as the Sofia International Film Festival (SIFF) to be held on March 12-22, 2020 in Bulgaria.

The Luxembourg City Film Festival is the nation’s leading cinema event and is one of Europe’s festivals with the most spectacular growth.

The festival has returned for its 10th edition on March 5-15, 2020.
