Beirut Women filmfest postpones for Covid-19

Beirut Int'l Women Filmfest has been postponed due to Covid-19 outbreak.

The Beirut International Women Film Festival has been postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The 3rd edition of the Lebanese film event postpones its official dates as the covid-19 outbreak is now announced a pandemic by World Health Organization.

The flu-like deadly virus originated in China in late 2019 and later spread to more than 100 other countries.

The festival has not yet announced the re-scheduled date for the event to hold. It was originally supposed to take place on March 08-13.

A lineup of five Iranian films will be in competition at this year edition of the fest. The films are ‘Finding Farideh’ co-directed by Azadeh Mousavi and Kourosh Ataei, ‘Dressage’ by Pouya Badkoubeh, Yaser Talebi’s ‘Beloved’, ‘Tattoo’ by Farhad Delaram and Marziyeh Riyahi’s ‘Driving Lessons’.

This year edition of the Beirut International Women Film Festival will be holding under the theme of ‘Women for Leadership’. According to the festival’s official website, the theme has been set to highlight “the role of women as leaders in their societies”.
