Coronavirus outbreak scraps Broadway shows

Broadway theaters in New York has been scrapped because of the worldwide outbreak of Coronavirus.

Broadway theaters has gone dark from March 12 amid Coronavirus concerns.

Charlotte St. Martin, President of the Broadway League, said in a statement “Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of Broadway theatergoers ... Once our stages are lit again, we will welcome fans back with open arms so that they can continue to experience the joy, heart, and goodwill that our shows so passionately express every night.”

Amid rising concerns about the global Coronavirus pandemic, New York governor, Andrew Cuomo, announced that no gathering of more than 500 people will be allowed.

The flu-like deadly Coronavirus originated in China in late 2019 and later spread to more than 100 other countries.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the virus a global pandemic.
