Iran’s ‘When the Moon was Full’ to hit home screens

Award-winning movie ‘When the Moon was Full’ is to go on small screens in Iran.

Award-winning Iranian movie ‘When the Moon was Full’ is slated to hit home screens soon.

Directed by Narges Abyar, The movie narrates the true love story of Abdul-Hamid Rigi, a member of the Jundallah terrorist group.

Rigi marries Faezeh Mansouri, a woman from Tehran. Faezeh is forced to leave her homeland along with her brother, Shahab, to live in Pakistan where they find themselves involved in the Jundallah rebel activities.

The Rigi brothers were arrested by Iranian security forces and were executed in 2010.

Elnaz Shakerdoust, Houtan Shakiba, Fereshteh Sadr-Orafaee and Shabnam Moqaddami are among the cast of the film.

The movie was nominated in 13 categories at the 37th Fajr Film Festival and garnered six main Awards of the event, including Best Director, Best Film, Best Leading Actor (Shakiba), Best Leading Actress (Shakerdoust), Best Supporting Actress (Sadr-Orafaee), and Best Makeup (Iman Omidvari).

It also grabbed the Best Actress award for Shakerdoust, the Best Student Jury Film Award and the Grand Prize of the 2nd International Political Film Festival of Carcassonne in France.
