Waterwalker Filmfest honors ‘Toutan Rider’

Waterwalker Filmfest in Canada honors Iran short doc ‘Toutan Rider’.

Iranian short documentary ‘Toutan Rider’ has been honored at the Waterwalker Film Festival (WWFF) in Canada.

Made by Mohsen Shirazi, the 20-minute short doc has won an honorable mention at the 32nd edition of the Canadian film event.

The doc narrates the life story of Dadkhoda, an old man who has lived his life working on a Toutan- a traditional type of bout. Although, the river has had good and bad days and the Toutans are about to become obsolete, the man insists on keeping the tradition alive.

The man is so passionate about his boat that he keeps it inside his house.

Iranian short film ‘Goodbye Olympics’ by Mojtaba Pourbakhsh has been also awarded with an honorable mention at the event.

Established in 1987, the Waterwalker Film Festival is among the longest running film events in Canada which is powered by Waterwalker, a non-profit Organization.

Although the award winners for this year edition of the event have been announced, the awards will be given in an official ceremony on May 16, 2020.
