New Zealand screens Iran’s short ‘Limbo’

New Zealand’s Show Me Shorts film festival screens Iran’s ‘Limbo’.

Iranian title ‘Limbo’ has been screened at the 2020 edition of the Show Me Shorts film festival in New Zealand.

The 14-minute ‘Limbo’ by Qasideh Golmakani tells the story of a former Iraqi sniper who took refuge in Iran and began to tattoo the names of all the soldiers he had killed in the conflicts and wars in Iraq.

The cast of the film include the late Levon Haftvan and Milad Moradi.

The short has previously been screened at the 2017 Cinequest Film and VR Festival in the US, the 28th Regard International Short Film Festival in Canada and the 9th Seoul Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival in South Korea.

The Show Me Shorts is an Academy Awards-accredited festival that showcases selected films nationwide in springs.

The festival aims to help audiences recognize the importance of short films and celebrate them.

Because of the global outbreak of the coronavirus, the festival was held online in the second week of April 2020.
