‘The Fried Fish’ screened at Show Me Shorts Film Festival

New Zealand’s Show Me Shorts Film Festival screens Iranian animation ‘The Fried Fish’.

Iranian animated title ‘The Fried Fish’ has been screened at the 2020 edition of the Show Me Shorts Film Festival in New Zealand.

The animation, directed by Leila Khalilzadeh, narrates the story of a fried fish who wishes to go back to the sea. The cat, dog, mouse and crow promise to help her in return for eating some pieces of her fried meat.

The fish accepts but they leave her after eating her meat.

Finally, these are ants that carry fish’s skeleton to the sea and she floats on the infinite blue.

‘The Fried Fish’ has already attended a number of local and international festivals, including the 2nd International Film Festival of Prayag in India and the 65th Berlin International Film Festival in Germany.

It also garnered some awards, including the best animation award at the 3rd Herat-International Women’s Film Festival in Afghanistan and a special mention at the 44th Roshd Film Festival in Iran.

The Show Me Shorts is an Academy Awards-accredited festival that showcases selected films nationwide in springs.

The festival aims to help audiences recognize the importance of short films and celebrate them.

Due to the global outbreak of the coronavirus, the festival was held online in the second week of April 2020.
