Students from 33 countries to attend FIFF screenwriting workshops

Film students from 33 countries around the world have been scheduled to attend screenwriting workshops on the sidelines of the 35th Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF).

The festival organizers announced on Tuesday that the workshops will be held at the Talent Campus, a venue established to discover young gifted students in various fields of cinema.

Ahmadreza Motamedi, Iranian screenwriter, is scheduled to hold the workshops which will last two days at the Talent Campus.

Set in four sessions, 110 film students will attend the campus program two days before the opening ceremony of the event.

To be started on April 19, the workshops will be conducted by large number Iranian and International cineastes.

Tehran’s Felestin Cinema will host the workshops by top world cineastes such as Hong Kong filmmaker Teddy Chan, Syrian director Mohammad Malas, as well as Icelandic director Fridrik Thor Fridriksson.

Iranian actor Attila Pesyani, film editor Mostafa Kherqepush, directors Maziar Miri and Homayun Asadian, screenwriter Shadmehr Rastin, and film experts Majid Eslami and Hassan Hosseini will also hold dozens of workshops during the event.

Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 35th International Fajr Film Festival is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran from April 21 through 28, 2017.
