Iranian animation ‘Not Winter’ to go on screen in UK

Directed by Hassan Mokhtari, Iranian short animation ‘Not Winter’ has been selected to go on screen at the 2020 edition of the Grounded Film Festival in the UK.

A synopsis to the 3-minute animation reads “an experience in animation about kindness of children”.

The animation won the Best Animation Film Award at the Assurdo Film Festival in Italy.

Whereas the animation is about devotion and self-scarifying, Mokhtari granted his award to the medical teams who are fighting coronavirus in Iran.

The Grounded event aims to provide a record of the unusual times caused by coronavirus; the times that people have to isolate themselves and stay at home.

The festival accepts films from any genres and languages that are between 2 to 15 minutes.

The award ceremony of the festival will be held in October 2020.
