Leading US movie magazine The Hollywood Reporter has talked about ifilm's pick for this weekend.
The acclaimed Iranian flick 'A House on 41st Street' by Hamid-Reza Ghorbani, gained a Cannes bow in 2016 and attended various film events across the world.
The review on the flick by THR reads, "A middle-class family in Tehran falls apart when brother kills brother over a bounced check ... a drama that starts low-key and gradually moves into complex psychological and moral territory. Though the circumstances dramatized in Azita Iraie’s screenplay are heartbreaking, they take too long to come to the fore, and it is only in the second part of the film that the knots tighten and the tension lifts the film above standard drama."
"Morteza’s young widow Forough (Mahnaz Afshar) is the most prominent character and the angriest," the review said, lauding female cast as "a definite plus."
The camerawork for the flick was also described as "nervous, fast-moving" that injects "the story impetus."
The film is set to go on ifilm Saturday, April 25, at 22:00 GMT.
