Iranian filmmaker grabs award at ECU

Iranian filmmaker Kaveh Tehrani’s short title has been awarded at the 2020 edition of the European Independent Film Festival (ECU) in France.

Tehrani’s ‘The Manchador’, which is an Iranian-Norwegian film, won the Best European Independent Film 2020 at the French festival.

The short film is about Mina and Saeed, a couple who live in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

In the film, Saeed invents a device in order to change his wife’s mind about moving abroad.

Earlier reports said that Iranian short ‘Funfair’ by Kaveh Mazaheri was named the Best Non-European Independent Dramatic Short at the same event.

The European Independent Film Festival was held online on April 24-26 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
