Coronavirus cancels 2020 Locarno filmfest

Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland has been dismissed over coronavirus outbreak.

The 2020 edition of the event which was scheduled for August 5-15 has been canceled, the organizers have announced.

The secretary of the festival insisted that the event will not have an online version.

The Locarno Festival is an annual film festival held every August in Locarno, Switzerland. Founded in 1946, it is one of the longest-running film festivals in the world.

The top prize of the Festival is the Golden Leopard, awarded to the best film in the International Competition.
