Sydney Film Festival is set to be held as digital one

The Sydney Film Festival has been set to be held as digital one following earlier cancelation reports.

The fest’s latest run that was called off due to the coronavirus, was decided to be held online, its organizers on Monday announced.

"This year's special 67th Sydney Film Festival: Virtual Edition and Awards is all about bringing audiences across the nation together at a particularly challenging time in celebration of filmmakers and particularly the Australian film industry," the Sydney Film Festival Director Nashen Moodley was quoted as saying.

The organizers earlier said that the next edition would take place in 2021.

The online edition of the festival runs June 10-21 and hosts world premieres of several films and documentaries from Australian filmmakers.
