Global film festivals unite for YouTube event

Major film festivals worldwide are teaming up with YouTube to launch “We Are One: A Global Film Festival”.

Tribeca Enterprises, the company behind the Tribeca Film Festival, and YouTube announced the online 10-day festival on Monday.

The 10-day digital festival will be available for free on YouTube since the pandemic igniting a rapid shutdown of film festivals worldwide.

“We Are One: A Global Film Festival” will feature programming from 20 festivals including Berlin International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival and Venice Film Festival, enabling audiences to experience films from around the world.  

Other festivals will also contribute curated programming, including the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the Sundance Film Festival and those in Tokyo and New York.

“We Are One: A Global Film Festival” will run from May 29-June 7 on YouTube.com/WeAreOne.

Free programming will include films, shorts, documentaries, music, comedy, and conversations. A full schedule will be available closer to the festival start date.
