US fest awards Iranian ‘Birthday Party’

Iran film ‘Birthday Party’ wins award at Humboldt Int’l Filmfest in US.

Iranian short film ‘Birthday Party’ has won an award at the Humboldt International Film Festival in the US.

The six-minute short directed by Amir Salimkhani has succeeded to take home the Best Narrative short film award at the 53rd edition of the American event.

‘Birthday Party’ narrates the story of an 8-year-old girl who tries to put together a movie of what her father has done for her birthday and give the film to her friends.

Reza Akbarpour, Aysan Haddad and Sahar Ghamkhar form the cast members of the flick.

The short has already attended a number of international events including the 13th edition of the Short Short Story Film Festival in the US.

The Humboldt International Film Fest is the oldest student-run film festival in the world. The festival is organized by students from a wide range of academic interests, who share a genuine respect for the art of film.

The 53rd edition of the Humboldt event was held online due to the health concerns over coronavirus.
