Popular series ‘Chernobyl’ has broken the record of the nominations at the BAFTA Film Awards.

The series directed by Johan Renck has bagged 14 nominations in various sections of the British event.

The historical drama has been nominated at Costume Design, Leading Actor, Mini-Series, Supporting Actor, Director: Fiction And Editing: Fiction Sections.

The list goes on with Make Up & Hair Design, Original Music, Photography & Lighting: Fiction, Production Design, Scripted Casting, Sound: Fiction, Special, Visual & Graphic Effects And Writer: Drama Sections.

“In April 1986, the city of Chernobyl in the Soviet Union suffers one of the worst nuclear disasters in the history of mankind. Consequently, many heroes put their lives on the line to save Europe,” a short synopsis of the film reads.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts - BAFTA - is a world-leading independent arts charity.
