Drive-in cinemas to give room to ‘Slaughterhouse’

Iran feature ‘Slaughterhouse’ is to be screened at domestic drive-in venues.

Iranian feature film ‘Slaughterhouse’ has been scheduled to go on screen at domestic drive-in venues.

As the coronavirus rages through the country and leaves more victims behind, the drive-in cinemas become more active to help the filmmaking industry.

This time Abbas Amini’s ‘Slaughterhouse’ has been given screening slot at such movie venues.

Produced by Javad Norouzbeigi, the movie is a narrative of some contemporary social issues, including several crimes.

“It’s been a few months that Amir has been deported from France. For the sake of his father, Amir is engaged in a shocking crime…” a synopsis for the movie reads.

The cast list of the flick includes Hassan Pour-Shirazi, Baran Kosari, Mani Haqiqi and Amir-Hossein Fathi.

‘Slaughterhouse’ had its theatrical debut at the 38th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

So far, a number of movies such as Ebrahim Hatamikia’s ‘Exodus’ and Takefumi Tsutsui’s ‘New Moon Hotel’ that have not had the chance to come to theaters have been shown at drive-in cinemas.

The screenings have been well received by the audiences.
