Shahab Hosseini to judge at Turkish fest

The International Migration Film Festival in Turkey has selected prominent Iranian actor Shahab Hosseini as a jury member.

Hosseini, the winner of Cannes’ The Best Actor award; Nuri Bilge Ceylan, winner of Cannes’ Palme d'Or award; US actor Danny Glover; Chinese actor Yuan Chen; Designer and holder of three US Oscars Sandy Powell, Danish director Lone Scherfig and the actor Amir Begovic from Bosnia are on the jury panel of the festival.

Eight films are participating at the competition section of the event that will be held online due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The official website of the festival wrote “we will be inviting everyone to reassess the contributions of migration to the civilization, the cultural impact between societies and the adaptation processes”.

The festival aims to screen more than 50 films that bring together filmmakers from around the world.

The event is scheduled for June 14-21, 2020 in Turkey that hosts millions of immigrants.
