‘Weekend' en route to Ischia Film Festival

Iranian short title ‘Weekend' is en route to the 18th edition of the Ischia Film Festival (iff) in Italy.

Directed by Ario Motevaqe, ‘Weekend' will be in the running at the short film competition section of the 2020 Italian screening event.

In ‘Weekend’, Moniri and the Kheradmand family are in the park for a picnic but after finishing their meal, it turns out that they are there for something else.

The cast list of the flick includes Fardin Qaderi, Mostafa Latifikhah, Sahar Taherkhani, Maliheh Esfandiyari and Bardiya Shariati.

In addition to Ischia, ‘Weekend' is currently in competition at the 43rd Kortfilmfestivalen-Norwegian Short Film Festival.

Mehdi Fard-Qaderi’s ‘Weightlessness’ and Iranian documentary ‘The Old Man and the Singer’ are also among the Iranian contenders at the Ischia Film Festival.

The Ischia Film Festival is a competition open to feature films and documentaries regardless of language: fiction, documentary, animation.

The theme of the festival is particularly focused "on the location and enhancement of the cultural and landscape identity of the territories chosen for filming".

The event will be held online on June 27-July 4, 2020.
