Croatia to have Iranian short animation ‘Eaten’

The 10th Supertoon Int’l Animation Festival in Croatia is to present Iranian ‘Eaten’.

The 10th edition of the Supertoon International Animation Festival in Croatia has scheduled to present Iranian short animation ‘Eaten’.

Directed by Mohsen Rezapour, the short animation will vie at the Planktoon – Animated Films for Children Competition of the Croatian event.

In a mysterious unknown planet of ‘Eaten’, a rabbit-like creature is eaten; but that's not the end of the story.

A brief synopsis for the 7-minute animation reads, “A rabbit has been eaten by a wolf and it meets another rabbit, in the predator’s stomach, which had been eaten by the wolf earlier. Now the two go on living in the new environment and the story goes on”.

Rezapour said although his animation is a fantasy production, it is not intended for the kids; due to the fact that the things that happen on the show are a bit harsh, targeting the adults.

‘Eaten’ has so far taken part at a number of global events, including the 23rd Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival in South Korea, the 15th Dieciminuti Film Festival in Italy, and the 2020 Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film in Germany.

The Supertoon International Animation Festival is a specialized event in short animated films and takes place every summer in Sibenik, turning the entire city into a bona fide open-air theater.

About 200 of the freshest, most interesting short animated films from around the world will be screened at Mala Loza and Gorica open-air cinemas on July 20-24, 2020 with all the necessary precautions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and public gatherings.
