This series features greatest names in Iran cinema

The beautiful series ‘Hezar Dastan’ has become an archive of great names in Iran cinema and television--most of whom are no longer around.  

All of these great people played their roles to perfection in this series, so that now the memory of each has been engraved in the history of Iranian cinema and television.

The late director of this series, Ali Hatami, was able to make a unique series with incredible acting performances in 8 years.

The series deals with the life story of Reza Khoshnevis, a fictional character based on a historical figure named Karim Davatgar, narrating the political and social scene of Iran during the Qajar and Pahlavi eras.

The series is set in a township built to resemble old Tehran.

The film consists of two main parts with the initial section about the story of Reza Tofangchi, set in the period of Ahmad Shah Qajar and the beginning of Reza Shah's rule. The second part is about the life of Reza Khoshnevis set in the ending years of Reza Shah's ruling before his son Mohammad Reza reined in.

The recent death of Mohammad Ali Keshavarz is a good reason to review the actors of this series who departed this life.
