Spirit Awards postponed over coronavirus

Independent Spirit Awards has postponed awards ceremony until 2021.

Also known as FINDIE, the festival has postponed the main event to April 24, 2021 over coronavirus outbreak.

The festival normally awards the winners just a day prior to the Academy Awards, but this year, the plans have changes.

Established in 1984, the festival is dedicated to independent filmmakers.

The event helps filmmakers make their movies, build an audience for their projects and work to diversify the film industry.

With over 250 annual screenings and events, the organizers provide access to a network of like-minded artists who are driving creativity in the film industry.
