Celebs picked and rose to fame by ‘Pejman’ director

Iranian actor-director Soroush Sehhat has introduced many top-rated stars to the world of cinema, especially comedy.

Sehhat, as a director with a special observation skill in identifying and scouting new talents, has written and directed many films and series alongside his acting career.  

Behnam Tashakkor, Pejman Jamshidi, Mohammad Naderi, Hootan Shakiba and Houman Barqnavard are the stars who made name, appearing in Sehhat’s projects. The following is a rough report of some of Sehhat’s discovered talents.

Behnam Tashakkor: ‘Medical Building’

Tashakkor was active in theater for 10 years and had about 10 films and series but he made name with his character as Dr. Nima in ‘Medical Building’.

Born in 1977, he has appeared in the dramas ‘The Scarlet Pearl’ (2004-2005), ‘Made in Iran’ (2011-2012), ‘Cops and Robbers’ (2012) and ‘Chimney’ (2013).

He also participated in films such as: ‘Resurrection Day’ (‘Hussein Who Said No’) (2010) and ‘Reparation’ (2011).

Houman Barqnavard: ‘Medical Building’

He became a known figure after playing the role of Naser, Dr. Nima’s brother in the series ‘Medical Building’.

Born in 1969, his roles in comedy series such as ‘Medical Building’ (2010-2011) as well as ‘Cops and Robbers’ (2012) gained him nationwide fame.

He has acted in a number of series, including ‘Bench’ (2005-2006), ‘Saadat Guesthouse’ (2006), ‘Awakening’ (2008), ‘Tears and Smiles’ (2008-2009), ‘Factor 8’ (2009), ‘On the Way to Zayandeh Rood’ (2010), ‘The Bounced Check’ (2011-2012), ‘The Times’ (2012), ‘Chimney’ (2013), ‘Bad Days Pass’ (2013-2014), ‘The Recluse’ (2014), and ‘Shahrzad’ (2014-2015).

Barqnavard has also appeared in movies such as ‘A Piece of Bread’ (2004), ‘Retribution’ (2009), ‘The Queen’ (2011), ‘Strawberry Dessert ‘ (2011), ‘The Sinners’ (2012), ‘Hard Makeup’ (2013), and ‘A Nice Dinner’ (2014).

Pejman Jamshidi: ‘Pejman’

Iranian ex-footballer was introduced to the world of cinema by playing a brilliant role in ifilm popular series 'Pejman'.

He made his debut TV series with ‘Medical Building’ (2011), but his role in the TV series ‘Pejman’ (2013), directed by Soroush Sehat, made him a household name.

Jamshidi has appeared in the TV series ‘Cloudy Years’ (2014), the movie ‘Ceasefire 2’ (2014) and the telefilm ‘The Honor of Fazel Family’ (2013).

Mohammad Naderi: ‘A Candlestick’

Before appearing in the series ‘A Candlestick’, Mohammad Naderi was a screenwriter. But he made fame after appearing in this popular Iranian series and received so many other suggestions from various projects.

Houtan Shakiba: ‘The Bachelor Holders’

Houtan Shakiba, who won the best male actor award at the 38th Fajr Film Festival for ‘When the Moon was Full’, was introduced to cinema with a comedy role in ‘The Bachelor Holders’ by Sehhat.
