‘The British Briefcase’ dir. talks original idea

In an exclusive interview with ifilm, late director of ‘The British Briefcase’ talked about the series' initial idea.

In an exclusive interview with ifilm, late director of ‘The British Briefcase’  talked about how the series' original idea was formed.

Seyyed-Ziaeddin Dorri who passed away in 2018 had said to ifilm on the series, "The story of ‘The British Briefcase’ as is mentioned in the credits was my father’s documented experience. He wrote the whole idea on some sheets of paper and gave them to me, saying that the story comes in handy. "

He added "I glanced through it and found it interesting. The story was about someone shouting anti-colonialism and independence slogans.  The same person forgets all his slogans when he became an MP facing the smallest threat. He backed down and left his position at that period of time."

About naming the series he concludes, "Up to this point, it was just an idea and the story’s name was inspired by my father when he said they used to receive a briefcase with money inside as a sign of bribery. Based on this, I named ‘The British Briefcase’ series."

ifilm is currently airing the historical series daily at 22:00 GMT.
