Beijing FICTS screens Iran’s ‘Goodbye Olympics’

Iran’s ‘Goodbye Olympics’ goes on screen at the Beijing FICTS in China.

Iranian short title ‘Goodbye Olympics’ has gone on screen at the Beijing International FICTS Festival in China.

Directed by Mojtaba Pourbakhsh, the title was screened at the 11th edition of the Chinese event.

“Maria is a Kayaking champion waiting to leave for a race held in France which is an Olympics Qualifying event. The departure of her team will be cancelled over some emerging problems,” a brief synopsis for the flick reads.

‘Goodbye Olympics’ has so far attended a number of international events, including the Triste Para Sempre (Sad Forever) Film Festival in Portugal.

ifilm star Ramin Rastad, Farajollah Golsefidi, Houman Javadi, Mehri Alaqa, Tahereh Amouzadeh, Asghar Sandousi, Morteza Ghadiri and Maryam Jahani are some of the cast members of the doc.

“The Beijing International FICTS Festival has been repositioned, especially after the 2008 Olympics, to strengthen cooperation with domestic and international agencies, positively devote itself to the creation and prosperity of the Chinese sports film culture, promote international exchanges and popularization on excellent sports film & TV programs and forge sports film & TV brand campaigns with international profile and authority,” the event website reads.

The 11th Beijing International FICTS Festival was held on July 13- 19, 2020.
