Iranian short film ‘Elephantbird’ wins at the 2020 Big Bear Film Summit in the US.

Iranian short film ‘Elephantbird’ has grabbed the Best Ensemble Cast award at the first edition of the Big Bear Film Summit in the US.

“The last wish of an old Afghan man is to give his ‘elephant-bird’ (turkey) to his grandchild, but this simple wish is hard to realize,” a synopsis for the film reads.

Directed by Amir Masoud Soheili, the short has previously attended the 23rd AVANCA - International Meeting of Cinema, TV, Video and Multimedia in Portugal, the 14th Batumi International Art-House Film Festival in Georgia, the Sedicicorto International Film Festival in Italy and the 2020 R.E.D. International Film Festival (RIFF) of Norway.

The Big Bear Film Summit celebrates cinema and music through screening films, concerts and workshops.

The annual three-day festival celebrates the art of independent cinema.

The event focuses on the films that emphasize community, environmental etiquette and artistic freedom.

Due to COVID-19 outbreak the event was forced to showcase selected films through online screening.
