Iran’s ‘Pet Man’ awarded at Ecuador festival

Iran animation ‘Pet Man’ is awarded at the Cinrecreo int'l youth short film festival in Ecuador.

Iranian animated title ‘Pet Man’ has been awarded at the Cinrecreo international youth short film festival in Ecuador.

According to a Tuesday media report, Marzieh Abrar-Paydar’s ‘Pet Man’ won the best animation award at the Ecuadorian event.

The film tells the story of a pet shop owner who falls asleep in the shop. The man has a nightmare in which he sees himself trapped in an animal cage and every time he tries to escape, he faces a new barrier.

‘Pet Man’ has managed to grab awards at several international festivals, including the 2019 Bogota International Animation Film Festival in Colombia and the International Film Festival ASTERFEST Strumica in Macedonia.

Cinrecreo international youth short film festival takes place every year in the city of Manta.

This year’s edition of the festival screened films from Iran, Switzerland, Germany, Colombia, China, Brazil, Ecuador and Argentina.

The competing films were judged by Canadian, German and Ecuadorian jurors.
