Iran’s doc ‘Mala’ to go on screen in Germany

The documentary ‘Mala’ has been selected to go on screen at the 2020 edition of the Iranian Films Night in the German city of Bochum, the Iranian Youth Cinema Society has reported.

Directed by Kourosh Farzanegan, the documentary is scheduled to go on the German screen on August 13.

‘Mala’ depicts the life of fishermen in some northern regions of Iran.

The documentary has previously participated at several Iranian festivals and won some prizes, including the Best Documentary award at the Celebration House of Cinema in 2006.

Farzanegan’s ‘Caspian Sea has no Seals’ was presented at the last year’s edition of Italy’s Intimatelens Film Festival.

His other work titled ‘Antimemories’ also participated at the Slow Food International Film Festival in Italy.

Farzanegan has directed more than 20 short films and documentaries, including ‘Blue Diamond’, ‘Jamshid’ and ‘The Gem of the Earth’.
