The upcoming DYTIATKO International Children’s Media Festival in Ukraine is to play host to ‘Don’t Worry’ from Iran.

Written and directed by Mana Pakseresht, the micro-short flick will be vying at the 10th edition of the Ukrainian film festival.

‘Don’t Worry’ follows the story of a teenage girl who is alone at home on her birthday due to self-quarantine. Her mother, who is a nurse, surprises her through a TV interview.

Pakseresht’s short film has already made way to some global film festivals, including the 1st Int’l Pandemic Self-Isolation Short Film Festival in Germany, the 4th Ramsgate Int’l Film and TV Festival in the UK, the Feminist Border Arts Film Festival in the US, the lockdown edition of the Last Frame Festival (LFSFF) in the UK.

‘The Cycling Wind’, an animated film by Nazanin Sobhan-Sarbandi, is another Iranian representative at the event.

Founded in 2009, the DYTIATKO brings together creative children and young people from different countries to Ukraine.

The 10th DYTIATKO is slated for September 2-5, 2020 in Kharkiv.
