‘Lock’ to vie at Muslim Film Festival

Iranian documentary ‘Lock’ is to vie at the 2020 Muslim Film Festival in Australia.

Iranian documentary ‘Lock’ (Qolf) is selected to compete at the 2020 Muslim Film Festival (MFF) in Australia.

Directed by Maryam Mohammadi and produced by Davoud Samavati, the documentary will compete with films from Canada, Italy, France, the US, etc.

‘Lock’ is about traditional lock manufacturing which is one of the most peaceful cultural heritage crafts of Iran with roots dating back to 300 years ago.

Mohammadi’s documentary is a co-production of IRIB Channel 2 and Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism. Mehdi Babaee is responsible for the international distribution of the film.

MFF is a celebration of independent films made by Muslims, or telling stories about Muslims.

Due to the circumstances created by the coronavirus outbreak, the two-week long festival will be held in Perth theatres while it will be streamed online on September 5-19, 2020.
