Written and directed by Jafar Najafi, the short doc will be one of the 17 works selected to vie at the Short Film Competition section of the Italian fest’s 26th edition.
‘Asho’ focuses on the story of a very young peasant boy whose world does not get limited by his surroundings. He, who has to spend days and nights with his herd and work for a living, has a huge passion for filmmaking and cinema.
The short has already been showcased at a number of international film events and won awards, including a special mention at the International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film - DOK Leipzig in Germany.
The FFDL is an annual 9-day event, “dedicated exclusively to short films, documentaries, and full length features about the life, history and traditions of the mountains”, according to the official website of the event.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s edition of the fest will be held online on August 21-31.
