New York contest awards Iranian photographers

The Int’l Photography Contest New York – Manhattan awards Iranian photographers.

The International Photography Contest New York – Manhattan has presented awards to several Iranian photographers.

Babak Mehr-Afshar’s photo ‘Prayer and Mosque’ received the MoL Gold award in the Open Color Section of the US event.

The Photographic Society of America (PSA) and Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (FIAP) along with some other partners organize the contest in four categories every year.

‘People and Flowers’ by Seyyed-Ehsan Mortazavi gained the FIAP Silver award while ‘Afghanistan’ by Mehdi Zabol-Abbasi won the MoL Bronze award, both in the Open Color section.

In the Monochrome Section, the winning photos taken by Iranian photographers included Zabol-Abbasi’s ‘Bondage’, Mehr-Afshar’s ‘Kurdish Girl II’ and Reza Mohammadi’s ‘Her Eyes’.

Reyhaneh Shadab-Jouposhti’s ‘Motherly Sadness’ received the MoL Ribbon award in the Photojournalism Section.

The jury panel of this year’s competition included Borislav Milovanovic, Nikola Veljic, and Braulio Cuenca.

The awarding ceremony of the International Photography Contest New York – Manhattan will be held on October 1 with the winning photos to be showcased during an exhibition set to open on January 1, 2021.
