London Kurdish filmfest to host ‘Life Gone with the Wind’

Iran short ‘Life Gone with the Wind’ is to go on screen at the London Kurdish filmfest in the UK.

Iranian short title ‘Life Gone with the Wind’ has been picked to go on screen at the London Kurdish Film Festival (LKFF) in the UK.

Co-directed by Siavash Saed-Panah and Omid Gharibi, the short work will compete at Women in Film section of the British event’s 11th edition.

‘Life Gone with the Wind’ tells the story of a senior lady, who sees her life gone with the wind, when she notices a kite flying around and going away.

Asieh Moradizar and Dina Arshadi are on the cast list of the flick.

The film has been on screens at some global events and grabbed some awards, including the Special Jury award at the International Pathological Film Festival in Italy and the Best Film Award at the Roshd International Film Festival in Iran.

Launched in 2001, the biennial LKFF aims to be “a powerful and influential form of artistic expression and one which carries great importance for Kurds” and “a tool for emancipation and self-expression”, according to the event’s official website.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s edition of the event will be held online on August 15-24.
