Iranian animated documentary ‘The Unseen’ is set to go on screen at the 12th edition of DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (aka DMZ Docs) in South Korea.
Behzad Nalbandi’s ‘The Unseen’ will take part in the festival’s Asian competition.
The film is about homeless women who are held in a camp.
“As part of a beautification process, local officials in Tehran decide to round up unsavory characters such as drug addicts. Men are usually released after a few days, but women are sent to a center on the outskirts of the capital city where social workers keep no records of the presence of these homeless women,” a synopsis for the film reads.
The DMZ Docs is one of the leading international documentary film festivals in Asia.
The 12th edition of DMZ International Documentary Film Festival will take place on September 17-24.
