New York fest to host ‘The Chess Game of the Wind’

Iranian classical movie ‘The Chess Game of the Wind’ is slated to be screened at the New York Film Festival in the US.

A restored version of the film, directed by Mohammadreza Aslani, will be displayed at ‘Revival' section of the 58th edition of the festival

Starring the recently deceased actor, Mohammad-Ali Keshavarz, ‘The Chess Game of the Wind’ is about the decadence of a family in the Qajar dynasty.

The first lady of a noble house has died, and now there is a conflict between the heirs for taking over her heritage.

Cineteca di Bologna at L’Immagine Ritrovata and the Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project have cooperated on restoring the film.

Launched in 1963, the New York Film Festival is an annual event held every autumn in New York City, presented by the Film Society of Lincoln Center.

This year’s edition of the fest is slated for September 25-October 11.
