Alidousti performs audio description of Hitchcock’s film + Video

Taraneh Alidousti performs audio description of Alfred Hitchcock’s 'Rebecca' for visually impaired audiences.

Iranian actress Taraneh Alidousti has performed the audio description of a Persian dubbed version of Alfred Hitchcock’s film 'Rebecca' for visually impaired audiences.

A video showing Alidousti narrating the film was published by media outlets on Wednesday.

Sevina Radio will broadcast the audio described movie on Thursday.

It will be available later on the website of Sevina Group (Cinema for Visually Impaired).

'Rebecca' was Hitchcock’s American debut.

The romantic psychological thriller film won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Audio description is a form of narration that plays during pauses in a film's dialogue, translating visual imagery and action on the screen into spoken word.

The 36-year-old Alidousti made her film debut in ‘I'm Taraneh, 15’ in 2000, which brought her the Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress at the 20th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

Alidousti has starred in many movies, including ‘About Elly’.

The 2016 film ‘The Salesman’ by Asghar Farhadi gained her global fame.
