The film’s soundtrack is considered as one of its main strengths. The award-winning original music is created by veteran Iranian musician and composer Majid Entezami.

Directed by Shahram Asadi, ‘The Fateful Day’ is about the Ashura, which marks the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Imam Hussein (AS) was martyred along with his 72 companions in the Battle of Karbala, in southern Iraq, in 680 AD after fighting courageously for justice against thousands of soldiers of the Umayyad caliph, Yazid I.

‘The Fateful Day’'s cast includes Ezzatollah Entezami, Jamshid Mashayekhi, Zhaleh Olov and Alireza Shoja-Nouri, among others.
