Veteran Iran actor Ferdows Kaviani honored at theater awards

Veteran Iranian actor Ferdows Kaviani who suffers a medical condition has been honored at a theater awards ceremony in Iran.

The 14th edition of Actor’s Celebration, a special event to honor Iranian stage actors, awarded a special medallion to Kaviani for his long and fruitful acting career in Iran.

A media report noted the actor who suffers from Parkinson's disease just said at the ceremony, “Today, I am very happy.”

The awards ceremony, announcing six actors and actresses (three male and three female) with no particular priority, wrapped up on May 6.

Iranian Theater Forum mounts the event at Tehran City Theater in the Iranian capital with a plethora of veteran stage actors, actresses and directors in attendance each year.  

Ferdows Kaviani is a veteran Iranian actor who made his film debut in 1970. He studied Theater Directing at Faculty of Fine Arts, Tehran University and has directed a few shorts. 

Kaviani has appeared in many series, including ‘Boro Bia Neighborhood’ (1982), ‘Hygiene Neighborhood’ (1984), ‘The Spouses’ (1994), ‘Friendship Agency’ (1999), ‘Our School’ (2009), and ‘Behind tall Mountains’ (2012).

He has also acted in films such as ‘In the Storm’s Path’ (1988), ‘Hamoun’ (1989), ‘All My Daughters’ (1993), ‘Killing Mad Dogs’ (2000), ‘A Non-profit Police Station’ (2008), and ‘The Orange Suit’ (2011).
