The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported on Wednesday that ‘Showan’ will be screened at the US event in October.
Directed by Bijan Zarrin, the film is about Showan who lives with his family in a village in Iran’s Kordestan Province.
After losing his job, Showan has been forced to become a smuggler to make ends meet.
Last year, the film was honored at the 19th Anchorage International Film Festival in the US.
The Reading Film Fest presents films that promote conversation about racial issues.
The upcoming edition of the festival will take place on October 8-11, 2020.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s festival will be a hybrid event, combining both virtual and in-person activities in Reading City in the US state of Pennsylvania.
