ifilm releases theme music video on Ashura

Have a glance on the theme music clip of the popular Iranian series ‘The Rise of Mokhtar’ (Mokhtarnameh).

On the occasion of Ashura, the tragic martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) ifilm has published a part of the series directed by Davood Mir-Bagheri.

'The Rise of Mokhtar' is among respectable works of Iranian TV productions with a theme on Imam Hussein (AS) as well as Mokhtar who vowed revenge against those who martyred the third Muslim Imam.

Fariborz Arabnia was featured as Mokhtar in the series ‘Mokhtarnameh’ and Iranian actor Farhad Aslani played a key role as ‘Ubayd Allah Ibn Ziyad.

The epic TV series which premiered in October 2010 chronicles some of the events after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).

Among the famous rituals of Tasua (the ninth day of Muharram) and Ashura (the tenth day of Muharram) is distributing food as votive offerings to the mourners.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's Muharram mourning rituals differ from previous years as all participants in the rituals must observe social-distancing and other health protocols strictly.
