Syrian filmfest nominates Iranian short ‘Tumor’

The first edition of the Afrin International Short Film Festival in Syria has nominated Iranian short flick ‘Tumor’.

Directed by Javad Ganji and starring Mohammad Vafaee, the short film will compete at the Best Short Film category of the Syrian gala.

Made in cooperation with the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, ‘Tumor’ has a novel minimalist look at women's rights in different societies around the world.

The Afrin International Short Film Festival focuses on works by filmmakers from 150 countries around the world on topics such as peace, human rights and the rights of women and children.

The first edition of the Syrian event will be launched on September 21, 2020 in the city of Afrin in Rojava region.
