Iranian short film ‘Out of This’ to go on screen in Italy

The 18th edition of the ShorTS International Film Festival in Trieste, Italy, has scheduled to screen Iranian short film ‘Out of This’ (Biroun az in).

Director Keivan Mohseni's short film has already attended more than 20 film festivals and received the Best Sound Design Prize from the Nukhu festival in New York, US, in 2016.

Born in 1988, Mohseni began with a short documentary named 'Abed' in 2005.

Ever since, he has made short films and short documentaries, mostly experimental ones, and his films are appreciated in international festivals. He has also worked in the fields of cinematography and editing.

Other features from Iran to be represented at the Italian event include ‘Silence’ by Farnoush Samadi and Ali Asgari, ‘Red’ by Ario Saffarzadegan, and ‘Red Point’ by Motahhareh Ahmadpour.

The festival received more than 4,300 films from 123 countries. The selection committee of the festival has selected 91 films for the competition section.

Works competing at the Italian film festival must have won at least one international prize in 2016.

Winners in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, and Locarno film festivals will compete with other festivals’ winners in the event.

The 18th edition of the ShorTS International Film Festival is slated for July 1-8, 2017, in Trieste, Italy.
