‘Asho’ to be screened at BFI London Film Festival

Iranian short film ‘Asho’ is to go on screen at the 2020 BFI London Film Festival.

The 64th edition of the BFI London Film Festival is set to put Iranian short film ‘Asho’ on screen.

Directed by Jafar Najafi, the 30-minute documentary narrates the story of a boy, Asho, who herds a flock of sheep. Asho’s biggest dream is to become a Hollywood star. Hi is under the influence of the Hollywood films that his cousin brought him.

‘Asho’ has participated in several festivals before and received many awards, including a special mention at the 62nd International Leipzig Festival in Germany and the Best Film Award of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

The BFI London Film Festival will be widely accessible in the UK through 50 virtual premieres, online events and cinema screenings. The event aims to support the future generation of filmmakers.

The 2020 festival is scheduled for October 7-18, 2020.
