‘Faces without Visage’ to vie at Portuguese festival

Iran's ‘Faces without Visage’ is to compete at the 2020 Family Film Project in Portugal.

Iranian short documentary ‘Faces without Visage’ has been named as an official selection for the 2020 edition of the Family Film Project, an annual film festival in Portugal.

‘Faces without Visage’ will compete for the Best Short Film Award at the Portuguese event.

Directed by Hessam Rahmani, the film depicts the bitterness of dementia.

Published by the festival’s website, a synopsis for the film reads, “How come a somber silence drowns me and my memory? How come the faces lose visage in this dark dungeon of memory?”

Established in 2012, the Family Film Project is an annual film festival which takes place in the Portuguese city of Porto.

The 9th edition of the event will take place on October 14-17.
