From status updates on Facebook, to emotional rants on Twitter, to artsy photos on Instagram, social media can be a minefield for all of us, but following the advice Modiri has given to his young audience, it can be easier to create a balance in the use of technology.
‘The Man with a Thousand Faces’ star asks the younger generation of today to try to take a tech-free break for 15 days only and spend the 15-day break on watching movies and reading books.
“Or do nothing and explore yourself. And look at yourself through an outside lens,” he further adds.
The 53-year-old actor, who is mostly known to his fans as a comedian, concludes that doing so will bring “an abundance of peace in your life. Your personality even develops. You will receive lots of respect and will show respect to others too.”
When all is said, Modiri suggests that “if you did not feel good after 15 days, you can get back to social media.”
As a leading artist in social satire in Iran, Modiri’s various series which have been broadcast through IRIB have set records in terms of viewership (an estimated 85% viewership when he is on air).
