‘Asho’ to vie at É Tudo Verdade filmfest

Iranian short documentary ‘Asho’ is slated to be screened at the É Tudo Verdade Documentary Festival in Brazil.

The competition section of the Oscar-qualifying event will host the short directed by Jafar Najafi.

The 30-minute documentary narrates the story of a boy, Asho, who herds a flock of sheep. Asho’s biggest dream is to become a Hollywood star. Hi is under the influence of the Hollywood films that his cousin brought him.

‘Asho’ has participated in several festivals before and received many awards, including a special mention at the 62nd International Leipzig Festival in Germany and the Best Film Award of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

The It's All True – International Documentary Film Festival, also known as É Tudo Verdade, is an international film festival held annually in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Launched in 1996 by film critic Amir Labaki, is one of the main events in Latin America dedicated exclusively to nonfiction productions.

The 25th edition of the event is slated for September 23 – October 4, 2020.
