Hood casts Peyman Maadi for ‘The Test’

Iranian star Peyman Maadi has been cast to appear in Oscar-winning director Gavin Hood's new movie ‘The Test’.

‘A Separation’ actor will costar John Boyega, the British-Nigerian actor whose fame mostly comes from the ‘Star Wars’ sequel trilogy; ‘The Force Awakens’, ‘The Last Jedi’, and ‘The Rise of Skywalker’.

The new project, which is an adaptation of the Sylvain Neuvel’s novella ‘The Test’, will be produced by Entertainment One, a Canadian multinational entertainment company.

Maadi has so far appeared in several award-winning flicks such as ‘About Elly’, ‘Melbourne’, and ‘Life and a Day’.

His role in Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-winning flick ‘A Separation’ won him the Silver Bear award at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival in Germany.

He has also written some screenplays and directed a number of successful movies such as ‘The Snow on the Pines’ which won the Audience Award for Best Film at the 31st Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
