Iranian Owj Arts and Media Organization has planned to release six short films about the Iranian Sacred Defense online.

Iranian Owj Arts and Media Organization has planned to release six short films about the Iranian Sacred Defense online.

‘Transceiver’, ‘Supple’, ‘The Glass Meeting’, ‘And Then There was Nothing’, ‘Ear Trumpet’ and ‘The Bridge’ are the six films to be offered online.

Here is a review on the plot summary and theme of the shorts:

‘Transceiver’, co-directed by Saman Salehi and Majid Kalantar, narrates the story of a transceiver operator during the Iran-Iraq war who is trapped in frontlines without food and water. He notices that an Iraqi transceiver operator is in the same situation. He communicates with the Iraqi soldier and they decide to help each other.

Directed by Yousef Hatamikia, ‘The Glass Meeting’ has a similar plot about enemy soldiers who try to connect and face challenges.

Amir Dasargar’s ‘Supple’ is another short film to be releases by Owj. The film is about a young doctor during the 80’s who decides to go to war to cure the injured soldiers.

‘And Then There was Nothing’ by Mohammadbaqer Mofidikia is about an Iranian soldier who is captured by Iraqi forces. He once dreams of his mother who asks him a favor.

The role of mothers during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran was so powerful that so far, many films and documentaries have been produced about them.

In this regard, the second short on mothers is ‘Ear Trumpet’ by Ali Delkari that narrates the story of a very old mom who tries to fix the TV for his injured war veteran son, so he can watch his favorite football match.

Finally, Navid Tanzifian’s ‘The Bridge’ is about building a new bridge on Bahmanshir River in south of Iran, after Iraqi troops ruined it during the war.

The six films will have VoD offerings during the Sacred Defense Week in Iran that has started from September 21, 2020.
