‘Neighbors’ star establishes theater festival

Star of Iranian series ‘Neighbors’ founds theater festival.

Amin Hayaee, the star of Iranian series ‘Neighbors’, has founded a theater festival dubbed “Negah”.

Omid Hayaee, Amin’s brother and the president of the first edition of the Negah Theater Festival, said one of the main goals of the event is to identify new talents.

Omid further said that the contenders can film their plays and submit it to the festival, adding that the winning plays will be performed in Amin Hayaee’s acting school in Tehran.

Professional artists will also perform plays as part of the festival, the Negah’s president said, noting that they will serve as a kind of educative workshop.

Amin Hayaee, 50, started his acting career as a theater actor. In 1991, he made his debut movie 'Two Travel Companions'.

Hayaee was one of the most prolific Iranian actors in the early 2000s.

He has appeared in many TV series, including 'Neighbors', which is being aired on ifilm every day at 22:00 GMT, except Saturdays.
